Ingrid Lilligren and Debra Marquart: Tactile Meditations Gallery Talk & Reading

Discover the inspiration and intent behind the “Tactile Meditations” solo exhibition of work by artist and University Professor of Art and Visual Culture Ingrid Lilligren on display June 11–Sept. 8 at the Grinnell College Museum of Art.

In this Sept. 4 event, Lilligren will talk about the history of her work, which explores her incorporation of Braille to explore social, cultural, and political blindness. She will share her inspiration and the making process for selected pieces. Audience members are encouraged to ask questions. Debra Marquart, Distinguished Professor of English and outgoing Poet Laureate of Iowa, will read poems included in Lilligren’s works. The exhibition closes Sept. 8.
