In this presentation, Hamed Yekita, assistant professor of interior design, will share his research exploring how nurses experience and use space in ICU settings, examining how spatial awareness supports situation awareness during perception, movement, and decision-making. Drawing on qualitative research, his talk will highlight how layout, visibility, circulation, and sensory conditions shape nursing work and influence care.
Hosted by the Institute for Design Research and Outreach, this seminar is part of the College of Design Monday Chat series highlighting the work of new assistant professors in the college. All are welcome.
