In this presentation, Yanhua Lu, assistant professor of landscape architecture and community and economic development extension specialist, will explore how communities can be empowered through co-design to shape the environments they live in. Drawing on projects focused on downtown revitalization, redevelopment, and aging housing, she will demonstrate how participatory design can influence decision-making and elevate voices that are often overlooked. Her talk will emphasize design as an evolving, shared process built around community knowledge and collective development.
Hosted by the Institute for Design Research and Outreach, this seminar is part of the College of Design Monday Chat series highlighting the work of new assistant professors in the college. All are welcome.
