Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development is preparing to launch Community Insights, a new website designed to make it easier to understand and use community indicators to support healthier and more resilient communities through data-enriched decision-making. The site is intended to support community leaders and local partners who rely on data to inform local decisions, as well as ISU and Extension employees who work with communities and need access to clear, reliable data, tools, and language to support collaboration. It includes a searchable resource library with reports and tools such as Data for Decision-Makers and data trend reports, interactive dashboards with county-level maps and time-series trends, and a data catalog that allows users to explore and filter available variables by category, source, and year.
Ahead of the website’s public launch, Iowa State employees are invited to take part in an internal preview and walkthrough that will demonstrate how the resource library and dashboards will work and highlight how the site can be used to support community-facing work when it’s live.
